The Magic 100!

Did you know there are books written on 100 things you can do? Books like, 100 Fun Things to do in a Grocery Store, 100 Fun Things to do in an Elevator, and my personal favorite 100 Days until WE CRUISE. Okay, that last one isn't a book but it's GREAT NEWS for those of you signed up for CreativityAtSea.com.

But we also have BAD NEWS. Carnival Cruise lines just contacted us to say our boat is almost full and they may take our unsold rooms back WITHOUT our permission. We're not kidding about this, this is not a last minute marketing trick. They really can take our rooms back if we don't have them assigned to actual people. This means at this minute, 100 days out, we have about 9 cabins left. However, on October 14th they may start taking our unsold rooms - in particular the ocean-view ones. We are sure this is going to be our best cruise yet and we would love to fill all those rooms. But our original deadline of November 7th is no longer a sure thing.

This means if you want to experience the time of your life on a cruise with Tim and Barry and all the gang you need to make a decision this weekend to be completely sure you get on the boat. After October 14th we just can't promise the rooms will still be there. Once again, THIS IS NOT A TRICK or marketing scheme, although it would be a good one. This is real. Our boat is almost sold out and we are in danger of losing our remaining rooms. Contact us NOW if you want to be on CreativityAtSea.com 2010

ANTS! - It's a Contest

What do Ants have to do with Creativity? We will share the answer in our first meeting on the cruise ship in January. What, you haven't signed up yet? Maybe this little contest will inspire you.

This fun contest fits with the Halloween month - ANTS! Lots and lots of ants! We've all seen contests where you guess how many jellybeans, peppermints, paperclips, etc. are in a jar. We have an ant problem for you. We've filled a lightbulb with fake ants (real ones were too creepy-crawly even for Halloween). Your task this month is simply to guess how many are INSIDE the lightbulb. This isn't one of those 'trick' contests with a 'trick' answer. We simply put as many ants in the bulb as would fit and left a few laying around so you can see how big they are compared to the light bulb. So, start guessing.

This month we have a great prize - but it's still a SURPRISE! You DO NOT have to be registered for the cruise to participate in the contests! Click HERE to go to the CAS Contest page to enter!

This contest will run through the 31st of October. Since this is a 'guess' contest, we'll not have any voting this month. We'll simply award the prize to the person who is the closest to the actual number we have in the light bulb - yes, I've counted them!

Creativity Quote - Winner Announced!

Last month we asked you to write a quote about creativity. We received our highest number of entries since starting our contests. This month's winner is Diane Kleefeld from Cleveland! Diane and her husband Jim will be joining us on the cruise in January. Congratulations Diane! Your quote: "Creativity starts with Sea" will be immortalized on this year's CreativityAtSea.com ink pen. The voting was VERY close and Diane only won by one vote.

Vegas Showgirl Picks A Winner!

It's true! At the recent MAGIC Live! convention we held a drawing for a slot on the cruise. We even had a showgirl draw out the winning entry. While we don't know the show girl's name, the winner's name is Mark Byrne from Clearwater, Florida. So Mark will be joining us on the boat this January. That's good news for Mark, but it's GREAT news for everyone else. As it turns out Mark is one of the top balloon twisters in the country. He has two balloon twisting DVD's already and is working on number three. Mark will be leading one of our optional night time sessions on Creative Balloon Twisting. So if you twist balloons or have ever thought of starting, you're in for a real treat!

Cecil B DeCruise Contest Winner!
Last month's contest was to either create a script or short video that can be used to advertise the cruise. We received two entries: one script and one actual video. The winner was the video, which was submitted by John Bobik. John is on the cruise with us this year so you'll get a chance to meet the mind behind this short, funny video. John wins $25 credit towards Barry Mitchell Products. To see John's Video, click here to be transported to the CreativityAtSea.com Contest Page.

Michael Finney - Admiral of Creative Comedy

Since the summer conventions are behind us now and Michael's Dry Heat Classic is over, we'll be working with Michael in the coming weeks to get you all some updated information and specifics on Michael's session. Stay tuned!

Creativity Quote - New Contest!

Here are some famous quotes about creativity:

"You can never solve a problem on the level on which it was created" - Albert Einstein

"Thank goodness I was never sent to school; it would have rubbed off some of the originality." - Beatrix Potter

"If you want to make an apple pie from scratch, you must first create the universe." - Carl Sagan

"Creativity is the sudden cessation of stupidity." - Edwin Land

"Creativity requires the courage to let go of certainties." - Erich Fromm

"The world is but a canvas to the imagination." - Henry David Thoreau

"All children are artists. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up." - Pablo Picasso

"An invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come." - Victor Hugo

"If stupidity got us into this mess, then why can't it get us out?" - Will Rogers

Your job is to come up with an original quote about creativity. You DO NOT have to be registered for the cruise to participate in the contests! The prize this month is REALLY unique. We will be giving everyone ink pens on the cruise as part of the registration packet. Your quote will be immortalized on the pens for CAS '10 if you receive the most votes. So get those quotes in to me at tim@timsonefelt with CAS Contest as the subject. You are welcome to submit more than one. Submissions will be taken until September 15th with the voting starting on the 21st.

Cruise Special Guest Speaker??

We're in the negotiation phase with some of the CAS 2010 Staff and will be announcing them soon. We've locked in a couple of our speakers who will be announced in the next issue. We're also trying to iron out the details for our Main Headliner. We hope to get this worked out in the next week or so. Cecil B. DeCruise Video Award - New Contest Announced!

It's time for you to show your "creative" genius in our new video contest. We call it Cecil B. DeCruise in honor of the famous Hollywood director. If you have no idea who we mean, then one of us it too old and the other too young. Your task is to create your best YouTube style video or SCRIPT to invite others to cruise with us. You can even shoot the video if you like.

You can watch the videos Tim and Barry created at www.YouTube.com/CreativityAtSea and then you'll know why WE NEED this contest. Check out our silly videos and create your own script or video. Both videos and scripts will be accepted. A winning script will be produced and filmed by Tim & Barry and if an actual video wins, that video will be added to our You Tube Channel!

The details and deadlines are below. Now get filming because everyone loves to say, "That's a wrap." Especially the guy at the sandwich shop.

The prize this month is a $25 BarryMitchellProducts.com credit! Barry doesn't know this yet, so enter the contest and take his money! To submit your jingle just email to tim@timsonefelt.com with 'Cruise Video' as the subject. We'll compile them and post them on the web site for voting later in the month. And the winner is . . .

Our first CreativityAtSea.com creativity contest is in the history books. We received some very creative and very funny submissions for our inaugural contest "Create A Caption!"

The winner of $20 in On Board Credit on the 2010 CreativityAtSea.com cruise is Dennis Giovine! Congratulations Dennis! We'll put you down for that $20 credit. You'll probably want to use it to buy a picture of Tim & Barry!

We'll keep the past contest results up on the site for everyone to see. We announce our new contest below so keep reading!

Tim & Barry go to Hell!

Hell, Cayman Islands that is . . . and you can go with us! Hell is a little place in one of our ports of call in 2010. What a perfect opportunity to get a T-shirt saying, "I've been to Hell and; made it out. Or didn't pass go or collect $200. Or didn't have to get married to do it!" You can also send your friends and family a post card that will arrive to them postmarked from Hell!

On the serious side, Hell, Cayman Islands is one of the most unique rock formations on earth. Apparently it got it's name when one local exclaimed, "This is what Hell must look like!"

Regardless of how it got it's name, we're going! If you don't go with us, you just might get a post card from you know where . . .

A Little Dab'll Do Ya - New Contest Announced!

Commercial Jingles are intended to make you remember the product for which it was written. Catchy hooks, short memorable lines that stick in your head like glue and keep that product in the forefront of your mind.

When you hit a retail store, that inescapable chorus will drive you to purchase the item simply to relieve the insanity. Bet you have one in your head now don't you? Sorry about that!

To help you get that perpetual verse out of your head, your challenge is to create a commercial jingle, but not for something that normally has a jingle. Your songworthy item is CreativityAtSea.com! The cruise that helps you reach your creative potential. Create a catchy tune that will make even the stuffiest land lubber catch the boat. Think Catchy!!

Your jingle can be as short as the Brylcreem classic, "A Little Dab'll Do Ya" or as long as the classic McDonalds ad "Two all beef patties, special sauce . . . " So put on those thinking caps

The prize this month is a $25 WonderImagery.com credit! To submit your jingle just email to tim@timsonefelt.com with 'jingle' as the subject. We'll compile them and post them on the web site for voting later in the month. The deadline for submissions is 16th at midnight Eastern.
